WHAT WE LOVE:

Parisian jewellery house Cartier has become well-known for their quirky yet historic designs, often inspired by unusual sources, most famously a French WW1-era 'Tank'. The Pasha, a watch designed for use in aquatic environments, is one of the lesser-known of its siblings and is highly underrated.

This timepiece has a mythical origin story, being first crafted in 1932 for the controversial Thami El Gaoui, also known as the Pasha of Marrakech, and then revived in 1985 as a sports watch with the design genius of Gerald Genta himself. The model we have here today features a larger 40mm case and a bezel suited for dive timing.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Our Pasha we have here uses the Cartier Calibre 049T Automatic, a modified version of the venerable Swiss ETA 2892-2. This movement beats at 28,800 beats per hour and has a 42 hour power reserve.
